The best available proxy data also suggests that shared caches would have a minimal positive effect on performance. Removal also creates a performance cliff for content that assumes cache availability. One available proxy is the distribution of use from Google's hosted JS libraries. None of this holds. Late-loading JavaScript can cause “server-side rendered” pages to fail in infuriating ways. The server sends it as a stream of bytes and when the browser encounters each of the sub-resources referenced in the document, it requests them.
