What Adrian Did Next — Part 3 — eBay — 2004 to 2007 I’d left Sun (part 2 in this series) , and had a few months off over the summer, so (of course) got married to @laurelco, bought a “fixer upper” house in the Los Gatos mountains, and worked on getting it tidied up. It was early 2007, and time to move on again.

To that end, the Video and Image Encoding team in Encoding Technologies (ET) has spent the last few years rebuilding the video processing pipeline on our next-generation microservice-based computing platform Cosmos.

The new region will give Nordic-based businesses, government organisations, non-profits, and global companies with customers in the Nordics, the ability to leverage the AWS technology infrastructure from data centers in Sweden. After migrating, database queries that took six seconds now take three seconds in their AWS infrastructure.
