That chance encounter, coupled with the Netflix's fault-tolerant cloud, gave me enough confidence to suggest trying tsc in production as a workaround for the issue. We ended up setting it in the BaseAMI for all cloud services. In 2019 myself and others tested kvm-clock and found it was only about 20% slower than tsc.
