Today, I am very excited to announce our plans to open a new AWS Region in Hong Kong! The new region will give Hong Kong-based businesses, government organizations, non-profits, and global companies with customers in Hong Kong, the ability to leverage AWS technologies from data centers in Hong Kong.

We used this model effectively at Netflix when I was their cloud architect from 2010 through 2013. The virtualization and networking platform could be datacenter based, with something like VMware, or cloud based using one of the cloud providers such as AWS EC2. Above that there’s a deployment platform such as Kubernetes or AWS Lambda.

Expanding the Cloud - The AWS GovCloud (US) Region. Today AWS announced the launch of the AWS GovCloud (US) Region. The concept of regions gives AWS customers control over the placement of their resources and services. One particular early use case for AWS GovCloud (US) will be massive data processing and analytics.

After many investigations I settled for T-Mobile which has an international Blackberry supplement that is $20/month for all BB mail traffic. For a while this was great but as this doesnt include web and application internet traffic I started to see a rise in my roaming costs which T-Mobile charges at $15/MB. Their starting rates is â?¬27.50

This spring I travelled through Europe for the AWS Global Summit series. Europe is a continent with much diversity and for each country there are great AWS customer examples to tell. To reach those goals, Shell in 2010 began using AWS. Shell leverages AWS for big data analytics to help achieve these goals.

In April 2017, Amazon Web Services announced that it would launch a new AWS infrastructure region Region in Sweden. Today, I'm happy to announce that the AWS Europe (Stockholm) Region, our 20th Region globally, is now generally available for use by customers. Public sector.
