Learning new skills and improving old ones were the most common reasons for training, though hireability and job security were also factors.

Five or six years ago, that manual approach may have been okay because you were often dealing with one runtime, like Java. AI that uses machine learning requires a slower process in order to train its algorithms. And that was well before AWS, Azure, and cloud. Systems are very dynamic.
