Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure released Scope 3 data in 2021. I’m expecting an update on their water sustainability program that was announced last year, and a new number for the amount of private purchase agreement (PPA) power that Amazon has under contract.

There was some new sustainability information that was quietly added to Amazon’s Sustainability in the Cloud page in October 2022 that is significant. I’m working with Aerin on a Sustainability in the Cloud Maven class in the UK at the moment, and we’re looking for attendees. But they didn’t go out of their way to promote it.

In addition, they introduced a hosted version of MovableType in 2003 called TypePad to compete with other popular cloud platforms. Nanoc removed the UI and is instead a program you run on the command line. Netlify , Vercel , CloudFlare , and AWS all have the concept of serverless functions run at edge nodes of a CDN.
