It also gives us a way to anticipate the impact of JavaScript and extensions to HTML (microformats, RDFa, and Schema.org). With a model in mind we can examine how changes to HTML impact its diverse consumers. and the ability to respond to input (navigating on click). This is one of the motivators behind Web Components.
