Queueing theory is the mathematical study of waiting lines, both real and virtual. The internet may change, and web pages may grow and evolve, but user expectations are constant. Interestingly, and perhaps not coincidentally, 100 milliseconds is Google's stated goal when it comes to page load times. Short answer: Poorly.
