I ended up developing a fix for the JVM c2 compiler which Oracle reworked and added as the -XX:+PreserveFramePointer option in JDK8u60 (see my Java in Flames post for details [ PDF ]). Google should be no surprise because they pioneered continuous profiling.) Back-end servers. I should do a blog post just on SFrames.
