By 2017, open source projects like Open-Tracing and Open-Zipkin were mature enough for use in polyglot runtime environments at Netflix. In 2019 our stunning colleagues in the Cloud Database Engineering (CDE) team benchmarked EBS performance for our use case and migrated existing clusters to use EBS Elastic volumes.
