My personal opinion is that I don't see a widespread need for more capacity given horizontal scaling and servers that can already exceed 1 Tbyte of DRAM; bandwidth is also helpful, but I'd be concerned about the increased latency for adding a hop to more memory.

Table-valued parameters have been around since SQL Server 2008 and provide a useful mechanism for sending multiple rows of data to SQL Server, brought together as a single parameterized call. } ; We now have correct lengths for the column definitions, and we won't be passing them as LOBs over TDS to SQL Server.
