Dynatrace awarded TISAX information security certification for the European automotive industry

With the achievement of TISAX certification, Dynatrace continues its commitment to delivering its software intelligence platform to companies that interface with the German automotive supply chain. Auto manufacturers, OEMs, automotive partners and suppliers, and their customers can be confident that their data resides in a highly secure environment.

TISAX® (Trusted Information Security Assessment Exchange) is a certification standard established by leading German automakers and their top suppliers. TISAX aims to ensure the security of intellectual property and uphold privacy regulations throughout the automotive supply chain. The certification is issued by ENX, a well-known German association, and is globally recognized1. Certification by an independent assessor includes an audit of the company’s information security measures, including its infrastructure, processes, and data protection practices. Dynatrace recently passed this rigorous audit process and successfully demonstrated its ability to handle data securely.

The evolving automotive security landscape

In such a complex and continuously changing environment that relies on multiple players to succeed, the secure exchange of information is essential. The automotive industry demands a comprehensive and systematic approach to information security throughout its long and intricate supply chains.

The importance of security in the modern automotive industry cannot be overstated, given modern manufacturing infrastructure, the digitization of in-car systems, the propagation of software, and the creation of new, fully digital mobility services. Information security has become a core consideration, and it has risen in importance as the industry evolves.

TISAX certification is a globally recognized certification standard established by the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA). TISAX ensures that organizations meet the highest security standards to protect their critical assets, data, and services. TISAX certification goes beyond traditional security certifications by incorporating a comprehensive risk-based approach that requires organizations to adhere to the VDA standard, a specific set of requirements for automotive components and system security.

Dynatrace recently underwent a TISAX assessment to demonstrate information security management to the defined level according to the VDA Information Security Assessment requirements. The assessment verified that the cybersecurity management system developed for Dynatrace incorporates regular testing, monitoring, and maintenance of the entire system.

Dynatrace, with TISAX certification, provides automotive industry customers and their suppliers with the assurance they need. By offering unified observability and security, Dynatrace enables organizations to safeguard their data and streamline operations. With a single platform that integrates AI-driven analytics and intelligent automation, companies can efficiently manage all their full stack observability and application security needs.

Dynatrace for the automotive industry

With the Dynatrace® platform, automotive manufacturers can:

  • Confidently deliver high-quality, innovative cloud-native applications to take advantage of the benefits of new technologies.
  • Prioritize and resolve issues before they have an adverse effect to ensure superior experiences.
  • Relieve strained and limited IT resources from repetitive, laborious, and time-consuming tasks using automation
  • Eliminate blind spots and gain valuable insights into the performance and availability of infrastructure and applications with end-to-end observability.
  • Shift security to the left (of the software development lifecycle) by automating vulnerability detection and resolving issues before they can be exploited, thus reducing threat-hunting needs and security analyst fatigue.
  • Tame cloud complexity and stay ahead of rapidly changing demands by automating continuous discovery, proactive anomaly detection, and optimization across the software lifecycle.
  • Enable cross-functional collaboration by eliminating silos and providing DevSecOps teams a common set of contextual data and a single source of truth across their entire hybrid, multicloud ecosystem.
