Percona Server for MySQL 5.7.41-44

On March 2, 2023, Percona Server for MySQL 5.7.41-44 was released. It is a free, fully compatible, enhanced, and open source drop-in replacement for any MySQL database, and Percona Server for MySQL 5.7.41-44 includes all the features and bug fixes available in MySQL 5.7.41 Community Edition in addition to enterprise-grade features developed by Percona. In this release, Percona has removed an Oracle patch for mysqldump that performed, at the beginning of the dump, a FLUSH_TABLES_WITH_READ_LOCK to get consistent GTID_EXECUTED because the patch required additional user privileges, even when the user does not use GTID-based replication. The Percona solution uses START TRANSACTION WITH CONSISTENT SNAPSHOT.

Percona XtraBackup 8.0.32-25

Percona XtraBackup 8.0.32-25, which enables MySQL backups without blocking user queries, was released on February 27, 2023. It is ideal for companies with large data sets and mission-critical applications that cannot tolerate long periods of downtime. Offered free as an open source solution, Percona XtraBackup drives down backup costs while providing unique features for MySQL backups.

This release merges the MySQL 8.0.32 code base, and starting with version 8.0.32-25, Percona XtraBackup allows instant columns in the backup for MySQL 8.0.32. This limitation still exists for backing up MySQL 8.0.31 and lower versions. This limitation does not exist for backing up any version of Percona Server for MySQL.
