Percona Monitoring and Management 2.34.0
On January 30, 2023, Percona Monitoring and Management 2.34.0, an open source database monitoring, management, and observability solution for MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB, was released. Starting with PMM 2.34.0, PMM installs and manages operators using Operator Lifecycle Manager (OLM) and database clusters using dbaas-operator. This release also includes various UX enhancements to backup management and a newly added component, VMProxy, a stateless reverse proxy that proxies requests to VictoriaMetrics and optionally adds extra_filters query based on the provided configuration.

Percona Distribution for MySQL (PS-based variant) 8.0.31
Percona Distribution for MySQL (PS-based variant) 8.0.31 was released on February 9, 2023. It is the most stable, scalable, and secure open source MySQL distribution, with two download options: one based on Percona Server for MySQL and one based on Percona XtraDB Cluster. This release is focused on the Percona Server for MySQL-based deployment variation, based on Percona Server for MySQL 8.0.31-23. Release highlights include improvements and bug fixes introduced by Oracle for MySQL 8.0.31 and included in Percona Server for MySQL.

On February 9, 2023, we released Percona Server for MySQL 8.0.31-23. It is a free, fully compatible, enhanced, and open source drop-in replacement for any MySQL database. Percona Server for MySQL 8.0.31-23 includes all the features and bug fixes available in the MySQL 8.0.31 Community Edition in addition to enterprise-grade features developed by Percona.

Percona Operator for MySQL 0.4.0
Percona Operator for MySQL 0.4.0 was released on January 30, 2023. Version 0.4.0 of the Percona Operator for MySQL is a tech preview release and it is not recommended for production environments. As of today, we recommend using Percona Operator for MySQL based on Percona XtraDB Cluster, which is production-ready and contains everything you need to quickly and consistently deploy and scale MySQL clusters in a Kubernetes-based environment, on-premises or in the cloud.

Percona Distribution for MongoDB 6.0.4
Percona Distribution for MongoDB 6.0.4 was released on January 30, 2023. It’s a freely available MongoDB database alternative, giving you a single solution that combines enterprise components from the open source community, designed and tested to work together. The aim of Percona Distribution for MongoDB is to enable you to run and operate your MongoDB efficiently with the data being consistently backed up. Release highlights include:
- Added availability on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 and compatible derivatives
- A Docker image for Percona Server for MongoDB (Release Candidate) is now available for ARM64 architectures. The support of ARM64 will be extended in subsequent releases.

On January 30, 2023, Percona Server for MongoDB 6.0.4-3 was released. It is an enhanced, source-available, and highly-scalable database that is a fully-compatible, drop-in replacement for MongoDB 6.0.4 Community Edition.

Percona XtraBackup 8.0.31-24
Percona XtraBackup 8.0.31-24 was released on February 7, 2023. It enables MySQL backups without blocking user queries. Percona XtraBackup is ideal for companies with large data sets and mission-critical applications that cannot tolerate long periods of downtime. Offered free as an open source solution, Percona XtraBackup drives down backup costs while providing unique features for MySQL backups.
This release adds the ability to use an IAM instance profile when running xbcloud from an EC2 instance. An IAM instance profile does not need the --s3-secret-key nor the --s3-access-key but the profile has a six-hour lifespan. With this version, qpress/QuickLZ are deprecated.
