The 2023 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Application Performance Monitoring and Observability: What it means for Partners

Dynatrace also ranked #1 across all six Use Cases in the 2023 Gartner Critical Capabilities for Application Performance Monitoring and Observability Report. What does this mean for our partner community?

Gartner recently published its 2023 Magic Quadrant for APM and Observability Report, recognizing Dynatrace as a Leader for the 13th consecutive time, and positioned furthest for Completeness of Vision and highest for Ability to Execute. Dynatrace believes this positioning reflects the Dynatrace platform’s unique ability to deliver automation for unified observability and security and help our partners and joint customers continually deliver better business outcomes.

We often see customers and partners consider this report in detail before selecting a vendor to work with. Why? In the report, Gartner evaluates the vendors based on their Completeness of Vision and Ability to Execute. Selecting a vendor that is a Leader – Dynatrace believes – is critical to our partners and their customers’ success.

Choosing the right partner in which to invest

For a truly successful partnership, both parties need to bring value not only today but for years into the future. And so, when partners evaluate the market for a vendor to join forces with, they do so in the same way customers would: assessing what a vendor can bring to the table to complement their existing solution, and how the two can work together to achieve their goals and the goals of their customers’ organizations.

Partnerships are more than a financial investment; they are also a large investment in time and energy on both sides, taking months and years to build. So, it’s important for partnerships to be mutually beneficial. For Dynatrace, that extends to our existing and prospective partners. Why invest in Dynatrace if you’re not already? But most important, why continue to invest in Dynatrace for the next year and beyond?

  • Existing partners. For Dynatrace’s existing partners, this year’s reports are particularly important as we believe they reaffirm Dynatrace’s positioning in the market and what Dynatrace offers within a partnership; a proven track record of ability and relentless pursuit of innovation, giving our partners the confidence that a partnership with Dynatrace will provide them the solutions to continually be successful.
  • Prospective partners. Likewise, for any prospective partners, the 2023 Magic Quadrant for APM and Observability demonstrates Dynatrace as what we believe to be a best-in-class vendor in the market and that Dynatrace is the trusted and proven vendor to choose to help deliver joint solutions and take customers’ businesses to the next level.

In addition to the Gartner Magic Quadrant for APM and Observability, in its 2023 Critical Capabilities for APM and Observability report, Gartner evaluated 19 vendors and positioned Dynatrace highest in all six Use Cases: Security Operations (4.46/5), IT Operations (4.15/5), Digital Experience Monitoring (4.1/5), DevOps/AppDev (4.08/5), SRE/Platform Operations (4.08/5), and Application Owner/Line of Business (4.01/5).

Appealing to today, tomorrow, and the future markets

We believe Dynatrace being named a Leader in the Magic Quadrant 13 consecutive times speaks volumes, to both existing and prospective partners.

From our perspective, being recognized as a Leader and placing in the highest overall position for another year, in conjunction with our scoring in the Critical Capabilities Use Cases, demonstrates to existing and prospective partners that Dynatrace will uphold its side of a partnership when it comes to innovation, vision, and ability to execute successfully. In addition, our position demonstrates the benefits Dynatrace believes we can bring to a partnership with vendors and how we can combine our solutions with those of our partners to bring market-differentiating solutions to our joint customers.
