Scale your enterprise cloud environment with enhanced AI-powered observability of all AWS services

We’re pleased to announce that Dynatrace has expanded its support for AWS observability to now support all AWS services. With this announcement, those customers that rely heavily on AWS will have a complete, end-to-end picture of their cloud environment, combining workload insights with service metrics.

Cloud deployments have grown rapidly in recent years, and enterprise hybrid and multicloud environments have become the new standard, resulting in new challenges such as:

  • Keeping up with dynamic, autoscaling environments where instances, applications and microservices come and go fast.
  • Missing operational insights, lack of context, and limited understanding of cloud service dependencies making it almost impossible to find the root cause of customer-facing application issues or underlying infrastructure problems.
  • Using various tools to monitor services running across hybrid/multicloud environments, with each tool requiring its own expertise.

Unlike our competitors, the Dynatrace Software Intelligence Platform is purpose-built for dynamic enterprise cloud environments such as AWS, with full automation and AI at the core. Our broad approach for cloud services provides direct value to customers, helping them migrate more services to the cloud and transform even faster, with greater confidence and less risk.

Achieve full observability of all AWS services

Dynatrace’s ability to ingest metrics from all 95 AWS services will be available within the next 60 days. The latest batch of services cover databases, networks, machine learning and computing. Each service comes with zero-configuration, automatic instance detection, continuous data capture in context, and what’s most important – thanks to our AI engine Davis® – is each service provides answers, not just data.

The AWS services listed below are adding upon the services already released. Those in the left column are readily available now, with those in the right available soon.

Out-of-the-box dashboard for each AWS service

Dynatrace makes your life easier with preselected key metrics of each service, so no additional configuration is required. However, for a specific use case, you can extend the list of monitored metrics that Dynatrace analyzes.

Additionally, Dynatrace creates predefined dashboard templates to visualize each service usage and performance.

Let’s give you a short insight into comprehensive observability of AWS services. We’ve selected two example services: Amazon Sagemaker and Amazon Neptune,, for this purpose.

Ensure high application performance by easily troubleshooting Amazon Neptune graph database

Amazon Neptune is a fast, reliable, fully-managed graph database service designed for applications working with highly connected datasets. It supports popular graph models (Property Graph, W3C’s RDF) and query languages (Apache TinkerPop Gremlin and SPARQL). Top use cases include recommendation engines, fraud detection, knowledge graphs, drug discovery, and network security.

Dynatrace analyzes Amazon Neptune performance of resources (CPU, memory, network), requests and errors. With those insights, you can automatically see if the root cause of a problem lies within your graph database.

Monitor the health of your machine learning workflows with Dynatrace

Amazon SageMaker is a fully managed service that provides developers and data scientists with the ability to build, train, and deploy machine learning (ML) models quickly. SageMaker removes the heavy lifting from each step of the ML process to make it easier to develop high quality models.

Dynatrace analyzes all six tools within SageMaker space: Batch Transform Jobs, Endpoints and Endpoints Instances, Ground Truth, Processing and Training Jobs as performance should be monitored on each step of the process.

Get started today and enable AWS service monitoring

Configuring support for the new AWS services is easy. Just go to your AWS infographics, select Supporting services box, and then push Configure services button in the right corner of the tile below.

Alternatively, you can go through Settings > Cloud and virtualization > AWS, select your AWS credential and choose Manage services at the bottom.

Add the new services you’d like to monitor and you’re good to go! Dynatrace will automatically start monitoring every new instance of this service with no further action required on your part. You can refer to Dynatrace documentation for detailed information and requirements.
