Partner Viewpoint: 2020 Gartner Magic Quadrant for APM & 2020 Critical Capabilities for APM

Following the release of Gartner’s 2020 Magic Quadrant for Application Performance Monitoring (APM), and 2020 Gartner Critical Capabilities for APM report, I wanted to share my perspective on what these reports mean for our partners.

But first, I’d like to recognize and thank all our Dynatrace partners for your role in our success. Your relentless innovation, creativity, and pursuit of ‘better’ is what we believe drives Dynatrace forward. And, without our partners support and engagement, we believe we wouldn’t have been positioned where we are.

For any partners who haven’t read the reports yet, here’s a quick recap:

  • Dynatrace is named as a Leader for the 10th consecutive time in Gartner’s 2020 Magic Quadrant for APM
  • For the third time in a row, Dynatrace is positioned in Gartner’s 2020 Magic Quadrant as furthest for Completeness of Vision
  • Dynatrace received the highest scores in five of six Critical Capabilities use cases in Gartner’s 2020 Critical Capabilities for APM

We believe these results are a testament to our ability to continually evolve and innovate our Software Intelligence Platform, enabling our partners and customers to accelerate digital transformation, simplify operations and drive better business outcomes.

Accelerated transformation

This is a transformative moment for our partners, customers and the communities we serve. More than ever, we are all relying on applications to drive revenue, stay connected with customers, maintain employee productivity, and reduce manual or redundant work to focus teams on what matters.

Dynatrace’s Software Intelligence Platform includes multiple modules, underpinned by a common data platform, and offers users APM, AIOps, infrastructure monitoring spanning logs and metrics, digital business analytics and digital experience monitoring capabilities.

BizDevOps teams are expected to do more with less time and resources, and automation and AI-assistance are key to doing this successfully. That is why we re-built our platform with our AI-assistance engine, Davis®, built at the core. Davis proactively delivers precise answers and root-cause to system degradations and performance anomalies, and automatically prioritizes these based on business impact. This multiplies team productivity, enabling them to shift focus to high-value projects and driving better business outcomes.

What this means for our partners

We believe by leveraging Dynatrace platform, our partners have been able to shift away from basic ‘APM deployment and management’ service offerings, that focus on activities such as installation and configuration of agents, building dashboards, setting alerts, and keeping software patched and updated. Instead, our partners are now able to fully utilize their scale, resources and expertise to build advanced service offerings that drive automation and innovation across enterprises.

A perfect example of this is a recent large-scale implementation of a partner’s multi-cloud management platform that manages high-volume application workloads for a US-based energy company. They deployed Dynatrace to provide real-time, full-stack performance insights that super-charge their operations team’s abilities on a day-to-day basis. In parallel, Dynatrace’s precise root-cause analysis is enabling the partner services team to yield huge operational efficiencies, speed, and agility by automating a vast array of runbooks, workflows, and remediation processes.

This is the vision Dynatrace has for the world of software, and our partners play a critical role in successfully delivering this vision.

A prosperous future

It’s been a phenomenal year of growth and innovation in which our partners have continued to accelerate and expand their service offerings around the Dynatrace platform. This has resulted in larger product sales and significantly larger service contracts for our partners.

To this end, I’d like to reiterate my sincere thanks to all our partners for your hard work and contribution. It’s been a tremendous journey with you so far. This is only the beginning, and we have a mutually prosperous and rewarding path ahead that will make a difference on a truly global scale.
