In the MySQL open source ecosystem, we have only two consolidated ways to perform sharding — Vitess and ProxySQL. As said, the last one is probably the most powerful, scalable, and difficult to design, and unfortunately, it represents probably less than 5% of the solution currently deployed. No access to SQL code.
